CATCHIN’ FOR KIDS
2012 SPORTFISHING SHOW

In spite of the poor fishing weather, this year’s (2011) Eighth Annual Catchin for Kids Rockfish Tournament was again a success in the most important way—we contributed over 3,400 toys to the underprivileged children of Hampton Roads. From Captain Rick Williams and all the Catchin for Kids volunteers, thank you for your very generous support this year.

The next upcoming event for Catchin for Kids will be our participation in the Mid-Atlantic Sports and Boat Show on the weekend of February 10-12 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. For details about the show visit their website at www.VABoatShow.com.

We are disappointed to have to tell you that the 2012 Hampton Roads Sportfishing Show has been cancelled. Our effort to recruit a suitable cross-section of fishing- and boating-related vendors has met with only partial success, not enough to sustain the show we intended. It has become apparent to us that the economic recession, which still continues, has hurt our prospective vendors and merchants more each year, and that this year we are unable to put on the type and quality of show we wanted in the current economic climate.
